Katy Perry and famed photographer Steven Klein team up for an augmented reality project for W Magazine.

This is wild. Katy and Klein created a limited-edition issue for W that allows readers to see her pictures in 3D by downloading the magazine’s app and scanning the photos.

The Hollywood Reporter has all the gritty details.

In a video teaser for the project, a robotized Perry has unsettling visuals projected onto her head. "The only way to deal with an unfree world is to become so free that your very existence is an act of rebellion," she says. Welp.

Klein had something pretentious and intelligent to say about the collaboration. "It's a non-specific fictional story about the idea of modernism in Paris, of mixing old and the new together, the past and future."

There's a lot to absorb here. Essentially, if you want to view Katy Perry's avant-garde new shoot in 3D, then read this. Otherwise, be basic like me and swipe through the lame 2D photos up top.

Umm, I sincerely hope that Albert Camus, the philosopher who actually said this decades ago, was properly cited for this quote.
