Kesha Unveils Cover Art And Tracklist For New Album ‘Rainbow’

Recommended Posts

Out August 11.

Kesha is over the rainbow.

The pop star unleashed the goods today (July 6). She kicked off her new era with a Jonas Åkerlund-directed video for a song titled “Praying.” It's the lead single from her forthcoming album titled Rainbow, out August 11 via RCA and Kemosabe, the label Dr. Luke was in charge of before stepping down earlier this year.

She also unveiled the album cover art. It was designed by Robert Beatty (as Pitchfork points out, he created artwork for Tame Impala and Flaming Lips) with art direction from Brian Roettinger and photography by Olivia Bee.

Amazon confirmed the Rainbow track list. It features two collaborations with the Eagles of Death Metal (“Let ‘Em Talk” and “Boogie Feet), Dolly Parton, who lends her voice on a cover of her own “Old Flames (Can't Hold A Candle To You)” and The Dap-Kings Horns ("Woman"). A video for the latter has already been filmed.

Rainbow track list:
1. Bastards
2. Let 'Em Talk (feat. Eagles of Death Metal)
3. Woman (feat. The Dap-Kings Horns)
4. Hymn
5. Praying
6. Learn to Let Go
7. Finding You
8. Rainbow
9. Hunt You Down

I think THIS is the real Kesha and always has been. In a way, this is Kesha's actual beginning - the start of her REAL career. She was forced by Dr. Luke to make fluffy electro-pop music, but I never thought that was true to who she really was. She's much more of a raw, organic, folksy, Bob Dylan-ish type of artist. I can't wait for her to really shine and be herself for the first time!

Praying is so beautiful. TAKE MY COINS!!!!!! In love with the album cover too.

Looking forward to the Dolly collab! It's a cover of Dolly's song that was written by Kesha's mum. Kesha has already released her cover on her Deconstructed EP, but I guess this version will be a little different. Can't wait.

So she's still with RCA but iirc didn't she sign a 7 album contract with them or something? :orangu:

I never expected this tbh. I'm glad she's finally getting a new album out.
