Taylor Swift’s Spotify Account Gets Verified

8 posts in this topic

Something's coming.

Taylor Swift's next album might not be an Apple Music exclusive.

There's rumblings a big announcement from Swift is on the way. "Taylor has been writing and recording her new album in Nashville for the last several months," a source said. "She has been working on it around the clock and will be making an announcement soon. She is really excited about her new music and can't wait to share it with her fans."

Then in an interesting turn of events, her account on Spotify became verified. That could mean the singer might allow her forthcoming album to exist on more streaming platforms than just Apple.

You may recall her famous open letter denouncing Apple Music because of its free three month trial. It lead to the music giant immediately making an amendment to their business plan.

Last year, Spotify UK head of content programming George Ergatoudis had a meeting with Big Machine president/CEO Scott Borchetta, and though "nothing's guaranteed," he had reason to believe Swift will include Spotify on upcoming debuts. "It's not a lock-in, but I've got every reason to be very optimistic Taylor Swift will be coming back to Spotify," he told Music Week. "I'm not saying it's done, but the indications are good, put it like that."

Your move, Apple.

It's still way too soon for her to be releasing a new album. It feels like her 1989 era just ended last week...

Ironic since she was so anti-Spotify... guess her team realizes that's the reality now.

This, she knows without streaming her debut will be lower :orangu:

She deserves to flop, hard.. but the problem is her younger (main) audience probably isn't affected by any of the drama surrounding her for the last couple of years.

Literally doing this ONLY because she knows her career is damaged as f**k and she knows very well she cant sell those numbers ever again after how she was exposed, snake swift. So she's turning to spotify for salvation. Always a bitch tbh
