A New Prince EP Will Be Released This Friday, The First Anniversary Of His Death

1 post in this topic

Unless his estate stop it in time.

Con-tro-ver-sy.

The second posthumous Prince release is set to come out this Friday (Apr 21) as a six-track EP of unreleased tracks has appeared on iTunes and Apple Music.

“Deliverance” was added to the online store and streaming service yesterday with the release date set for the first anniversary of his death, however it may not be authorised by his estate.

Prince's estate and Paisley park have filed a lawsuit against George Ian Boxill, the man behind the unexpected release, to hand over the song masters and stop the release.

According to Billboard, the sound engineer wrote and recorded the songs with Prince between 2006 and 2008, and his claims that the late singer would want them to be heard allegedly go against a contract he previously signed.

The title track is already streaming on Apple Music, so we’ll just have to wait and see if the rest makes it to the public on Friday.
