Even though it's just the beginning of the season, Simon Cowell's eyeing the end of it, telling reporters with a bit of coaxing, he thinks Britney and Demi could perform for the finale.

"I think with a bit of persuasion they'll do it. I think we should probably wait 'till the finale. But I'd love to see it happen. I think there's a good chance. I mean, she seems up for it."

"He's already booked them to do a duet on the finale and he didn't talk to them?" laughed L.A. Reid when we told him about Simon's wishes. Demi responded, "Yeah, I don't know anything about that, but it would be a dream come true. My life is absolutely insane right now - putting my handprints in cement and working with Britney Spears, L.A., and Simon, so if I got to sing with her I might die of happiness."

When asked what song she would like to perform with Britney, she said, "I think it would be cool if we could do a mixture of both of our songs like mashed them up together. I think that would really cool."

When they asked Britney, she kept tight-lipped, smiling and nodding.

I am down with colabs right now since Britney doesn't have a current album of her own going on. I would want it to be a good song, obviously. I love getting some new music while she's in between albums!!

Here's my only issue with this: Their voices will not work together. Demi is a much stronger singer than Britney. That's not me being shady or mean its just the truth.

I as a fan love any brit music that is new but she went from never needing to do a colab expet with madonna and now shes gonna be the new nicki minaj ft on every track out there and it kinda makes her not as untouchable and special when she features i guess
