Though there was such hype around The X Factor, The Voice managed to edge out X Factor in the ratings, according to TVLine.com.

The X Factor scored a 2.7 (7.5 million viewers) in the ratings, while The Voice saw a 3.3 (10.7 million viewers).

Wednesday hour by hour:
8 p.m.
NBC: "The Voice" (10.7 million viewers, 6.6 rating/11 share)
FOX: "The X Factor" premiere (7.5 million, 4.6/8)
CBS: "Big Brother" (6.1 million, 3.8/6)
ABC: "The Middle" rerun (3.7 million, 2.6/5)/"Suburgatory" rerun (3 million, 2.1/3)
The CW: "Oh Sit" (930,000, 0.5/1)
18-49 leader: "The Voice" (3.3)

9 p.m. NBC: "America's Got Talent" finals (11 million, 6.7/10)
FOX: "The X Factor" premiere (9.5 million, 5.7/9)
CBS: "Criminal Minds" rerun (5.6 million, 3.9/6)
ABC: "Modern Family" rerun (3.7 million, 2.5/4)/"Suburgatory" rerun (2.8 million, 1.9/3)
The CW: "Supernatural" rerun (697,000, 0.5/1)
18-49 leader: "The X Factor" (3.8)

I don't usually like to go by numbers, but ugh!

7.5?! What?! No, no I just don't believe it.

Guess I'm delusional cuz that's just something I don't want to accept. If they actually counted the ratings from EVERYONE who watched then it absolutely would have won IMO. & tonight im sure will blow up.

Simon needs to stfu & stop trying to predict ratings.

x factor still will do better. the voice ratings will go down very fast after the auditions. x factor will gain viewers. it had a big competition the voice and america got talent (semi-final)

The number of viewers is NOT as important as the demo rating. That's what the networks care about. The demo sucked too, but that's what you should be looking at.

But yeah, 7.5 mil is pretty shocking.

I'm actually shocked by these numbers. 7.5 million is an actual FLOP.
