I was watching the new season of America’s next top model and whenever a pretty perfect white girl entered the audition room they would talk about how she was bland or had no personality even tho the girls had it but it was a “white chick” personality, and they kept emphasizing that in a weird way. Now im not saying Britney has no personality or anything, but we can’t lie and say white culture hasnt been in a decline for a couple years now, specially in the entertainment business. People who are seen as cool nowadays have some edge to them, they are either gay, or black or an outcast in some way. Do you think Britney’s american girl next door image is hurting her this late in her career?
I know there are other facts that led to this decrease in interest from the public, like the lack of promo, but do you think sometimes she’s just not IT anymore and the new generation can’t relate much?
Thinking about it, she was kinda lucky to have lived through 2007 because it gave her the victim role even though she didn’t play along with it.
Justin is another one that is getting hurt by his white boy image and there were even memes on twitter this week about him going back to his roots for the new album. Something like what roots a white man is gonna go back to? Something like that.
Taylor is the only one who doesn’t seem to be getting hurt by this image, but she did get under fire this era because of it. She just has a big fanbase following that supports her, but I doubt if she started today she would’ve found the same success.
She's actually dancing MORE in 2018 than in that 2004 performance. The 2004 performance has her sitting around doing arm movements a lot of the time, while in 2018 she's twirling and and moving around on her feet.
I prefer the Ellen Toxic choreography where she is dancing throughout the entire performance. I give 2018 Brtitney "Toxic" the win against that 2004 ABC performance.
Oh, and 2018 Britney looks better than the 2004 Britney in that performance.
