  1. Messy.

    Here we go again.

It's been a good month of press for Azalea Banks. Not only did she make headlines for selling out her hometown show, but the rapper also hit Good Day New York for a televised performance and announced a North America tour. Still, that doesn't mean that the controversial star is entirely focused on just her craft. On Tuesday (August 29), the femcee took to Twitter to stir her pot of beefs and this time she placed her target on M.I.A.

"Mia be low-key trying to take credit for black culture and the shit is annoying. She's like clearly quite anti-black," Banks told her followers. "I don't get her points a lot of the time it’s like she came up in hip-hop then wants to be like what about my people but tries to discredit."

Elsewhere in her rant, Banks claimed that M.I.A. stays too focused on comparing the struggling. "It's always like why do you care about blacks and not Indians when blacks took this from my culture. She stay trying to compare struggles. When it's like honey… just spit your rhyme."

Banks' tweets come after M.I.A.'s very own confessional Instagram post, where she stood up for herself and shared her side of her career jumpstart, particular when it comes to her then-right hand man Diplo. "It's important you don’t see me as a lil thing diplo discovered because I'm a brown woman," she said after explaining just how the two met in the first place. "This is the first story of a brown female musician who smashed it for the first time. That didn't happen because I accidentally walked passed diplo."

I just want to clear this up Here's a lil story of how this happened. I discovered diplo because Steve Mackey played me a song by him released on big dada! I found out on a "flyer" he was djing and spent 16 pounds and bought my own way into fabric club in London . No one put me on the list! Nobody paid for it! I approached him and gave him my record! There was no label no A N R no channels. a handful of people believed in me , then when I got a deal , they turned on me. This was why i forged my own path and style and genre. I didn't want anyone to say they made me! To this day so many people have made careers off me and the same people distort history destroy the story because of my politics , which he played a part in cementing. He said "politics is a terrible thing for music"in 2010 in the NYT article . During this time when 400 000 Tamil were getting bombed to death , he used to have a dart board of my face on his rider . Jus sayin . "He text me "you're walking backwards into a brick wall" when the NYT article came out. While I was defending privacy laws with a newborn baby like it's me against the world. No one came to my shows during this time because of that article and racist memes mad decent were spreading through hipsters. I let him cash in on the sound because I had no choice. I felt it was important to defend freedom of speech, even for American people and couldn't play the game. Everyone involved in major lazer now came together through me. I made boyz in Jamaica and Trinidad. I took switch there carried beers up the mountain everyday . Wes wasn't there because he was cheating on me in Brazil at the time. he turned up a year later and networked in JA saying he produced BOYZ coz the song blew in Jamaica. Walshy was the directors roommate and Chris was my day to day in Trinidad. it's important you don't see me as a Iil thing diplo discovered because I'm a brown woman , and this is the first story of a brown female musician who smashed it for the first time . That didn't happen because I accidentally walked passed diplo. Ta! This is literally 1% of the story!

Still, there were plenty of skeptics, particularly one who told M.I.A. that she relied on "black sounds like everyone else" to which she responded: "I came right after the 90s early 2000s success of Indian riddim in dancehall/hip hop!Missy timberland /big pimpin coolie riddim sounds ta." See below for the rest of her tweets on the matter.

  2. It's not looking good for "One Sweet Day."

    It's getting serious.

No one can doubt the impact and cultural ascendance that Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee's "Despacito" has made this summer. And yet, even after the visual to the original version became the most-watched video on YouTube, the Justin Bieber remix to the Spanish-language smash is also on track to take down Mariah Carey and Boyz II Men's long-lasting record for most weeks on top of the Billboard Hot 100.

Word around the blogosphere is that the pop monarch's '90s classic, "One Sweet Day," a collaborative effort with the R&B group, might just pass over the crown to the Biebster's remix of "Despacito" if it stays on top in the coming weeks. So, here's the stats: Fonsi's smash has topped the Hot 100 for 13 weeks, surpassing Ed Sheeran’s "Shape of You" for the longest streak of 2017. However, it only needs a few more weeks atop the Hot 100 before it matches the all-time record of 16 weeks, which was set by "One Sweet Day."

And while, yes, "Despacito" isn't making as strong of an impact on radio airwaves as, say, a month ago, the track is gearing up for some major exposure. On Monday (August 7), Good Morning America announced that Luis Fonsi will hit Times Square for a performance of the dance hit next Wednesday, which will only further its longevity.

Silver lining: Even if it does overthrow "One Sweet Day," at least we can count our blessings and remember that it wasn't The Chainsmokers' "Closer" that took the title away from the '90s gem.

  3. Let the speculation begin.

Expect more Ed in the second half of 2017.

Despite the backlash surrounding his cameo on the season premiere of Game of Thrones, Ed Sheeran remains entirely unfazed by his detractors and focused on the next phase of his career, which will include a number of collaborations.

In a new interview with KISS 102.3, Sheeran was questioned about his recent studio time, which was documented on his Instagram account, but the pop hitmaker said that his newest efforts in the lab weren't for his own solo project but instead for other folks.

"I've got a few collaborations coming this year. . . .I have started the next album, but I'm not going to release it this year."

It's easy to speculate just who might be on that table of collaborations. There's Justin Bieber, who appears to be spewing out new collab after new collab even though he's not exactly in the mood to perform it. There's Taylor Swift, who is heavily rumored to be dropping her 1989 follow up at the end of this year. There's a smaller name like Jamie Lawson, who remains the first act signed to Ed's record label, Gingerbread Man Records. Who knows?

Sheeran went on to explain that the follow-up to divide won't take too many years to drop, but it'll arrive sometime before 2020. As for whether he'll continue his math-themed titles, he's currently unsure. Still, there are two more installments left in that back pocket of his before he puts the mathematics to sleep.

Who do you want Ed to collaborate with? Let us know in Exhale.

  4. Be nice, folks.

    Leave Ed alone.

Ed Sheeran's cameo appearance on the season 7 premiere of Game of Thrones has made plenty of noise — for the good and bad. However, the show director isn't keen with any negativity and has come to the singer’s defense after he was met with backlash for the Sunday (July 16) episode.

"I think Ed did a lovely job — he's a lovely actor and a lovely person," episode director Jeremy Podeswa told Newsweek. "He was appropriate for the part because he needed to sing. If people didn’t know who Ed was, they wouldn’t have thought about it twice. The hoo-ha seems to be from the things that are outside of the world of the show. In the world of the show he did a lovely job, and he looks like he belongs in the world."

Less than 24 hours after the episode aired, Sheeran deleted his Twitter account with no explanation. Coincidence? Probably not. In the past, the British chart-topper has admitted that he doesn’t entirely dive into the social media realm because of the comments. At time of press, he had returned to Twitter.

Podeswa continued his defense for Sheeran, confessing that he thinks a lot of the viewers put "so much of his [superstar] presence into the thing which is far beyond what anybody was thinking going into it."

"He is known to the producers of the show and some of the cast, and he's a gigantic fan of the show. As everybody knows, the show really eschews stunt casting—it's never, ever done that," he continued. "I was quite surprised about the reaction actually because I know he's very well known and a successful singer but you’re in the bubble of the show—the cast are well known too, everybody is really well known...none of them can walk down the street without being followed. You don't think about that very much in this context."

Why do you think Ed received so much backlash for his Game of Thrones cameo? Let us know in Exhale.

  5. Money talks.

    You're off the hook, Bieber.

Justin Bieber is miles away from his family friendly image of his debut years, but he still has all the money in the world to wipe away some of his dirty past. According to the BBC, the Biebster is off the hook for graffitiing an abandoned builing during a 2013 visit to Brazil.

A Brazilian judge closed his case after the chart-topper paid a fine, making a $6,000 donation to a cancer hospital in Rio de Janeiro. Even though he was 19-years-old at the time and had his bodyguard nearby, the tagging of the abandoned former Hotel National caused quite a stir. O Globo Newspaper, which just so happens to be the country's largest news outlet, published photos of the singer and all hell broke loose. Brazilian authorities even issued a statement after the incident, revealing that the singer had been charged with "defacing a building or urban monument by graffiti or other means." Cases like this mean business in Brazil as defacing buildings is a crime punishable by up to one year in jail or a fine.

Funny thing is this whole debacle could have been avoided since the singer had permission to paint at a nearby sports facility but chose a different location to avoid fans for security reasons. We all live and learn, right?

  6. She’s keeping it moving.

    #MajorKeyAlert

Nicki Minaj may still be feeling the burn from the 2017 BET Awards on Sunday night (June 25) when the rap titan lost Best Female Hip-Hop Artist to nemesis Remy Ma after nabbing the award for seven consecutive years. Still, it appears as if the rapper is keeping things moving.

Even though she has yet to sound off on Remy’s win, Minaj did just score the key to her hometown of Queens, New York. Just one day after BET’s ceremony, the Harajuku Barbie took to Instagram to share a photo of the gold piece, which was presented to her by Queens Borough President Melinda Katz for her "outstanding career achievements in music."

“What a pleasant surprise? Wish I was there to receive it. Thank you so much!” she captioned the photo before telling Katz that she hopes she can meet with her before her next flight out of the Big Apple. Take a look at the post below.

Minaj is likely set to fly out of New York after her performance at tonight’s inaugural NBA Awards, which just so happens to be hosted by her friend and Young Money peer Drake. You can catch her and a string of basketball heavyweights during the ceremony, which airs live at 9 PM ET on TNT.

  7. Dealing with Haters 101

In the last year, The Chainsmokers have been hit with an overwhelming amount of hate. We're talking Nickelback style.

Remember the Lady Gaga backlash? How about the criticism over Drew's live vocals during their VMA performance? Oh, and don't forget when people lost their minds over the pair accepting David Bowie's Grammy. Nonetheless, the EDM duo has developed a simple method to dealing with their detractors.

"You don't give a f**k about them love the people that support you and keep proving everyone wrong," Drew Taggart and Alex Pall tweeted on Thursday (June 15).

It's sound advice, but the backstory here is the interesting part. In an Esquire piece, which was published at the top of the year, writer Matt Miller (no relation to BH creator Jordan Miller) made a bold claim in his headline: "The Chainsmokers Are the Nickelback of EDM."

During a recent interview with People, Nickback's frontman Chad Kroeger was asked how he handles critism, despite the band's enormous amount of success. That soon turned into talk about The Chainsmokers, with Kroeger giving his advice to the DJs. "Don't Google yourself. I never look at press, I never look at comments on anything, it's like what for?" the Canadian singer said. "If you're looking for the negativity it's easy to find." However, the pair might have a hard time doing that being part of a young crop of EDM acts in 2017 and considering that they responded to this whole fuss via Twitter. 8. Queen of Livestreams.

You were probably one of them.

Katy Perry's unfiltered 96-hours in Witness Headquarters brought in a load of viewers (49 million of them, to be exact), according to a report via Billboard, which was published on Thursday (June 15).

As per the stat, over 49 million of those views came from 190 different countries, which means a whole lot of folks saw Katy get real vulnerable, during the lengthy weekend. "We are absolutely thrilled with the success of this unique and surprising event and are honored to have supported Katy’s ambitious, creative vision,” said Susanne Daniels, Global Head of Original Content, YouTube in a statement. “It was truly remarkable to watch Katy share herself with the world and we admire her openness, honesty, and engagement with fans on YouTube throughout the entire 96-hour live stream."

Speaking of numbers, this weekend also saw Hits Daily Double complete their sales estimate for WITNESS with 187,338 copies (sales and streaming) and Perry become the first person to reach 100 million followers via Twitter. Coincidence? I think not. Either way, congratulations are in order, Ms. Perry.

  9. Thirsty?

    Campaign ends this weekend.

Lady Gaga took her Cups of Kindness campaign with Starbucks to the next level on Friday (June 16) when Mother Monster whipped up drinks behind the register at a location in California.

To further push the new initiative, which sees four Gaga-designed mixes (Pink Drink, Ombré Pink Drink, Matcha Lemonade, and Violet Drink) hit the Starbucks menu until June 19, the pop titan visited a local Starbucks and churned out orders like nobody's business. In a video shared via her manager Bobby Campbell's Instagram Stories, the singer can be heard doing her part just like any other hard working associate. "Does somebody want a pink ombre drink?" she asked.

In an Instagram post, which was shared the same day, Gaga wrote, "Dropped by @starbucks today to treat everyone to one of my #CupsOfKindness drinks supporting @btwfoundation! $.25 from each one sold through 6/19 is donated to the Foundation! ❤️ how did I do as a barista?."

Gaga's Born This Way Foundation was created in 2011 and aims to support the wellness of the youth, all while empowering them to create a kinder world. Click here for more information on Gaga's Cups for Kindness campaign with Starbucks.

  10. Beautiful.

    Much respect, Ari.

It's been less than two weeks since 22 individuals were killed at Ariana Grande's Manchester show due to a suicide bomber, but the pop star is doing what she can do to help.

Days ahead of her One Love Manchester memorial concert, which will feature performances from Justin Bieber, Katy Perry, Pharrell Williams, Miley Cyrus and many more, the 23-year-old star took to the hospital to visit some of her fans, who were injured in the terror attack. For someone who has her own road to recovery to tend to, it's beautiful to see Grande step up to the plate to visit her fans and try to assist in the aftermath of this horrific tragedy.

If you want to catch the One Love Manchester benefit concert, you're in luck because it will air on both ABC and Freeform on Sunday (June 4). While ABC will air a one-hour highlights version of the affair following game 2 of the NBA Finals, Freeform is set to air the concert in full at 2 PM ET. Be sure to check back for more highlights on One Love Manchester!

  11. You be the judge.

    We smell drama.

Fifth Harmony might be in some hot water after whispers spread that Terror Jr implied the girl group's brand-new Gucci Mane-assisted single, "Down," is actually a ripoff of one of their very own songs.

After the ladies debuted the number on Good Morning America on Friday (June 2), the track quickly rose to the runner-up spot on iTunes Singles Chart. However, the mysterious individuals behind the Terror Jr moniker might have just called out the pop foursome for the similarities between their track, "Come First," and 5H's comeback record. "Come First" is featured on the act's debut set, Bop City.

    Shortly after the release of "Down," which is basically "Work from Home"'s less appealing little sister, Terror Jr took to the Twitterverse to share one hell of a subliminal statement. "ur . . favorite . . pop . . star . . just . . ripped . . us . . off . . because . . they . . are . . goldfish . . & . . we . . are . . not," the trio wrote.

When one user reacted negatively to Terror Jr's tweet, they had a slick response for the hater.

    1999 meets 2017

If you're like me, you were probably expecting a whole lot more from Camila Cabello's solo pop debut, "Crying in the Club." It's in no way a bad song, especially considering today's pop climate, but it's still not a number that exactly screams inventive. Nonetheless, the Sia-penned track does deserve points for its shining interpolation of Christina Aguilera's own debut single, "Genie in a Bottle."

Early last week, some Internet genius created a mashup of the former Fifth Harmony bandmate's track with Aguilera's 1999 smash, and the results are pretty stunning. Layering Cabello's 2017 instrumental atop the latter's vocals sounds appropriate at the very top, courtesy of the pop vet's ad-libs, and the remaining four minutes after that just feels right.

While "Crying in the Club" is still gaining heavy radio airplay, the dance cut isn't faring as well on iTunes. At time of press, it was sitting at the No. 107 position. Given the song's global marketing promotion, her solid performance at the 2017 Billboard Music Awards and the simultaneous release of even more new music from the budding star, the air feels a little murky. It's been less than two weeks since the release, so here's hoping that the cut is more of a slow burner for her ala her MGK-assisted "Bad Things."

If not, Cabello will surely have some push with her Major Lazer collaboration, "Know No Better," which also features Migos' Quavo and Travis Scott.

  13. Another one.

If you're in the mood for a new boy band.

'90s trends will see a full-blown resurgence when Rita Ora, Nick Carter and Emma Bunton team up to look for -- wait for it -- America's next superstar boy band, Variety reports.

Amidst all the other trends making the rounds from that decade, an all-male collective will be the next item on the radar, courtesy of ABC's just-announced "Boy Band" reality competition. "From The Beatles to The Jackson 5 to Backstreet Boys and One Direction, generations around the world have always had an insatiable thirst for boy bands," ABC said in a statement. While Carter and Bunton will serve as "architects" on the forthcoming series, Ora is expected to host the 10-episode affair. News of the venture simultaneously arrives alongside Katy Perry's announcement that she'll lead the judging panel on the forthcoming "American Idol" reboot.

"The show will pit singers against one another in a battle to join the next music-group sensation," Variety reports. "Performers will compete for spots in a band with a recording contract at Hollywood Records, with viewers voting live at home for their five favorite potential members."

Even though the scene could very well use a new male collective, the search for the next (insert synonym for superstar) has grown tired and unproductive. You try naming a successful winner from the last few seasons of "The Voice" or "Idol." They've stopped churning out actual success stories for a reason. And yet, with consistent ratings, we can see why these programs haven't gone off the air entirely.

"Boy Band" premieres Thursday, June 22, at 8/9 PM on ABC.

Chester Bennington wants folks to embrace a new chapter.

If you thought that Linkin Park’s latest musical chapter was an attempt to gain some commercial or monetary value, then lead singer Chester Bennington has a few words for you: "Stab yourself in the face."

It’s a harsh response to the critcism the band's received for their latest wave of tracks, including “Heavy," "Battle Symphony" and "Good Goodbye,” but a necessary pushback if they're going to try and grow. In a new interview in promotion for their upcoming LP, One More Light, Bennington told Music Week that everyone is allowed to feel the way they feel about their new music unless they're questioning the band's intent.

We were asked, ‘What do you think of people who say you sold out?’ I don’t care. If you like the music, fantastic. If you don’t like it, that’s your opinion too. Fantastic. If you’re saying we’re doing what we’re doing for a commercial or monetary reason, trying to make success out of some formula… then stab yourself in the face!

Later in the interview, Bennington was put on the spot when asked why the group decided to move on from the sound of Hybrid Theory, their debut LP that went on to sell over 10 million units in the United States, and his message was crystal clear. "When we made Hybrid Theory, I was the oldest guy in the band and in my early '20s. That’s why I guess I’m like: ‘Why are we still talking about Hybrid Theory? It's f**king years ago. It’s a great record, we love it. Like, move the f**k on. You know what I mean?”

As we've recently witnessed with Lady Gaga, it’s sad that we can't let artists explore other avenues of their artistry, particularly when that means leaving the beloved sound of their past in the past. However, with that said, we can't say that we click with this new era of LP as much as we did with their older material. As Chad said, maybe we have to just try harder to “move the f**k on."

One More Light drops on May 19 via Warner Bros.

  15. You can't deny her love for friends.

Sheeran lands on TIME's 100 Most Influential People list 2017.

It's no secret that Taylor Swift loves herself some Ed Sheeran. On Thursday (April 20), the industry heavyweight took her adoration for her BFF one step further when TIME's 100 Most Influential People issue published Swift's encouraging essay on her British pop peer.

Applauding Sheeran for having "one of the most impressive self-made careers in music," Swift made it a point to begin her essay by separating her former touring partner from the batch of other pop singer/songwriter out there. "Whether by choice or an unconscious evolution, when he decided on his musical ambitions, Ed became less of a boy and more of a tank. He is protected by an impenetrable and ever-present armor of enthusiasm that has helped him endure any setback, letdown or underestimation," she explained.

Later on, Swift recalls a moment when a discouraged Ed came to her in a moment of despair after losing a chance at a Grammy. Thankfully, the pop titan was there to see him rise up from his slumps and hear the beginning of what would go on to be one of his signature hits.
"A few years ago, in a rare moment of admitting feeling defeated, Ed said to me, 'I'm never going to win a Grammy." Yes, you are, I said. You’re going to sweep the whole thing one of these years. It was a few weeks later when he met me in a dance-shoe store in London, where I was picking out rehearsal outfits, and said, “You have to hear this.” It was a song he’d just finished called “Thinking Out Loud,” which went on to win Song of the Year at the Grammy Awards in 2016.

Elsewhere in TIME's newest feature, you can find honorees like RuPaul, John Legend, Demi Lovato, Alicia Keys and even an essay written by Sheeran about Spotify co-founder and CEO Daniel Ek. Click here to see their contributions to the magazine.

  16. Let's take a walk down memory lane.

Bonus points to her for being a good sport.

Michelle Branch is back with Hopeless Romantic, her first album in 14 years, and the 33-year-old singer/songwriter has been making the rounds to promote the comeback record. One of those pit stops included a visit to MTV News, where the "anti-Britney" of the "TRL" generation rewatched the clip to her 2001 smash, "Everywhere," and it was all sorts of amazing.

In case you don’t remember, "Everywhere" featured Branch peeping out the window at her crush, who lived across the street. Sure, he was hot and all, but looking back at the Liz Friedlander-directed clip, the singer realized that she was being a total creep.

"No one's ever mentioned, like, I'm stalking someone in this video," she jokingly said. "That's actually what I'm doing. I'm, like, being a creep."

Branch went on to explain how she dealt with her rise to fame at such a young age. "It was great because it was exhausting and I was young enough that nothing could really faze me," Branch explained. "It was just go, go, go. I was traveling a lot. I literally toured the world before I was old enough to drink, which also was handy when I went to foreign countries and I was able to drink. It was just a wild ride."

It was a ride that we (and the rest of the 2001 pop audience) enjoyed so much that the video for "Everywhere" won the MTV Viewer's Choice VMA in 2002. Scroll down below to walk memory lane with Michelle Branch!

  17. Ryan and Ricky reunited.

    Production begins later this month.

If you don’t think you’ll have the chance to see Ricky Martin’s just-unveiled Las Vegas residency, then you can check him out on FX.

On Friday (April 7), it was announced that Ryan Murphy has tapped the Latin heartthrob for an upcoming acting gig opposite Édgar Rarmirez, Penélope Cruz and Darren Criss in "Versace: American Crime Story."

As per Deadline, Murphy's 10-episode series will examine "the shocking July 1997 assassination of Gianni Versace (Ramirez) on the steps of his Miami Beach mansion by sociopath and serial killer Andrew Cunanan (Criss)." It’s worth noting that the actual story arc will be based on the book, Vulgar Favors: Andrew Cunanan, Gianni Versace, and the Largest Failed Manhunt in U.S. History by Maureen Ort. This marks the third installment of the limited FX series.

Murphy and Martin are no strangers to one another. Back in 2012, Sin City's newest entertainer was cast in an episode of "Glee," where he played night-school Spanish teacher Señor David Martinez. Production on "Versace: American Crime Story" is expected to begin later this month in Los Angeles and Miami.

Oh, and if you need a reminder of Ricky's acting (or dancing) skills, here's a clip of that episode of "Glee" that we mentioned earlier.

Azalea took to Australia’s Kyle & Jackie O radio show on Friday (April 7) to talk about the sophomore set, revealing the LP will officially drop the first week in June. "It's going to be out the first week of June, so it's going to be pretty soon," she told the hosts. "We're already in the first week of April now."

While it doesn't look like the set's new single, "Mo Bounce," is off to the smoothest of starts, that doesn't mean the accompanying visual to the track won't help build some slow and steady momentum. Elsewhere during the interview, I-G-G-Y spoke about the abundance of twerking that she offered the cameras in the clip.

"I had a lot of practice actually, I was really nervous about the video because I think you’ve gotta go all in and do that, you don’t wanna look stiff," she explained. "It's harder than it looks. I took lessons for two weeks before the video with somebody helping me. I do live in L.A., it’s weird they have twerk-out classes where people come and they twerk and work out...I got the best twerk-out girl and she came and she helped show me some moves. It was pretty weird but it was cool."

Expect a major promotional rollout for the LP with a number of TV performances of "Mo Bounce." Among the rapper's top choices for platforms include "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," naturally.

  19. Decisions, decisions.

    And the GOAT is ...

Noisey is back with another round of incredibly important questions in their newest installment of "Questionnaire of Life," and one of Trey Songz' answers in the segment is making the blogosphere rounds.

After deciding upon things like fast food chains and parts of the chicken, Songz was put on the spot to decide between Beyoncé, Nicki Minaj and Rihanna. As for his answer, well, Trigga Trey is all about Queen Bey. "Beyoncé is like the greatest thing that ever happened to earth," the 32-year-old declared. "She's like Michael Jackson reincarnated. She's just great and the inspiration she gives to young black women."

Songz went on to applaud Bey for staying "amazing" and "graceful" despite defeating so many obstacles in both the personal and professional sides of her life. "And she's married to Hov," he added. Click here to see the full interview.

Songz has been out and about on a press circuit in promotion for his recently-released seventh studio LP, Tremaine The Album. If you're feeling the new tunes, make sure you catch him on his "Tremaine The Tour" trek, which kicks off on May 3 in Detroit and ventures around the country until early June.

  20. Let’s inspect the evidence.

    You be the judge.

Rihanna’s shoe collaboration with PUMA is getting ripped off by Forever 21 and Topshop, and the retail mega-company is doing something about it.

On Friday (March 31), TMZ reported that PUMA has gone to federal court to accuse Forever 21 of illegally knocking off several designs from Rih’s Fenty collection. The docs state that Forever 21 has jacked at least three of the shoe designs: the Creeper, the Bow Slide and the Fur Slide. Meanwhile, Topshop also has their own renditions of the trio up for sale, so Rih's influence is clearly making its way around the fast-fashion retailers on the scene.

In a statement, PUMA declared that they have "[I]mmediately reacted to the knock-offs that are being offered by Topshop in their shops and online and has successfully applied for a preliminary injunction which orders Topshop to not sell anymore of their knock-offs of the Puma by Rihanna models creeper, fur slide, and bow slide. The injunction has been granted by the High Court of Düsseldorf which has substantiated its decision with the fact that the Topshop copies infringe both Puma’s design rights and also have to be considered as unfair competition/passing off."

PUMA also admitted that they keep a particularly low stock of her shoes to create a demand for the “luxury product,” and Forever 21 and Topshop are basically messing that that sort of strategy. Now, of course, PUMA holds the patents and copyrights for the entire shoe line, so it’s no surprise that they’re suing the companies to immediately shut down the sales of all the replica items and expects all the profits from the items.

  22. Dreams do come true.

It's the collaboration you never knew you needed.

For about five magical minutes during their Friday stint at London's O2 Academy Brixton (part of their week-long residency), Robyn joined The xx for a special live collaboration of her famed 2007 mega-hit, "With Every Heartbeat."

During the group's rendition of "Sheltered," which is off their self-titled debut LP, Oliver Sims invited the pop star onstage and proceeded to transition into her Kleerup-produced smash. With Robyn leading the pack, Romy Croft and Sims chimed in for occasional trailing vocals as Jamie xx worked his magic on the production front. Their show was part of the "Night + Day Festival," which ends this evening.

Robyn previously opened up for the indie pop duo a day before her surprise appearance. She's part of the lengthy list of acts supporting the British pair during their residency at the venue. Amongst the other acts include Mr. Tophat, Sampha, Kelele, Cat Power and Mica Levi. If you want to see The xx in the flesh, make sure you snag tickets to their tour, which is set to kick off a North American leg in mid-April with week one and two of Coachella.

    UPDATE // MARCH 13:

Ed pulled through! Divide easily debuts at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with 451,000 equivalent album units (322,000 in traditional album sales) – the biggest opener in 2017 thus far.

    Numbers jargon from Billboard:
This is Sheeran’s second No. 1 album on the Billboard 200, following the chart-topping bow of his previous studio effort, x (Multiply), in 2014. That set launched with 209,000 in traditional album sales (before the Billboard 200 transitioned to a ranking based on equivalent album units).

Additionally, ÷ logs the biggest streaming week for an album since 4 Your Eyez Only’s debut frame. ÷ earned 90,000 streaming equivalent album units (which equates to 134.6 million streams of songs from the album in the tracking week). 4 Your Eyez Only arrived with 118,000 streaming equivalent album units (176.9 million streams of the album’s songs).

    EARLIER // MARCH 11:

    Killing it, Ed!

Ed Sheeran’s promo hustle for his new album, Divide, has been on point and it looks like he’s going to see one hell of a debut on the forthcoming Billboard 200 Albums chart.

Earlier this week, Hits Daily Double upped their estimate for the new release, pushing his sales figure to the whopping 435-445,000 (SPS) range. It was original set to hit the 425K ballpark, but it's certainly gaining momentum. Expect a steady flow of sales in the coming weeks, particularly due to his forthcoming appearance on James Corden's "Carpool Karaoke." Trailing Ed is Bruno Mars (56-60K), Future (55-59K) and the rapper's self-titled release (51-55K). Stay tuned for official word on Sheeran's sales on Sunday.

    ‪Just over 24 hours and ÷ is released !‬

Over in the UK, Sheeran's set has become the fastest-selling album by a male artist. Meanwhile, his tracks ("Shape Of You," "Galway Girl," "Castle On The Hill," "Perfect" and "New Man") occupy the top five spots on the singles chart. Calvin Harris took to Twitter to congratulate and (jokingly) diss the singer in a tweet after hearing the announcement.

  24. Rejoice in new TLC.

    It's time to go "WayBack."

R&B will see the end of an era when TLC releases their final album later this year.

After T-Boz and Chilli announced the project in late February, it appears as if the fruits of their labor will actually see the light of day. Earlier this week, T-Boz took to Twitter to announce that new music from the beloved '90s act will be previewed during this week's episode of FOX's series, "Star," and indeed it did. On Wednesday night (March 8), a snippet of a song called "WayBack" was played during a scene from the series and it's a slow-grooving R&B number that stays true to the pair's classic sound.

Interestingly enough, "WayBack" also features a cameo from Snoop Dogg and is "most likely" to lead their forthcoming kickstarter-backed LP, which is due in June. T-Boz reportedly made the revelation in a tweet sent to a fan on Thursday night. The cut is the result of a collaborative songwriting effort by T-Boz and James Abrahart (Justin Bieber's "Company" and Rita Ora's "Body On Me").

Back in October, the duo unleashed a double A-side "Joy Ride / Haters," but the focus right now is all about "WayBack." Some other potential cuts for TLC's fifth studio album include "No Introduction" and "American Gold."

Take a listen to a snippet of TLC's "WayBack" and peep the cover art below!
