breatheheavy got a reaction from it's so much Better in Katy Perry Is Reportedly Planning A Comeback
Katy Perry's Witness era didn't go according to plan, but the pop star has a plan.

Katy Perry's Witness era didn't go according to plan, but the pop star has a plan.

It's no secret that Witness underperformed. According to data from Variety, the record sold 840,000 copies. That's not bad, but it doesn't hold a candle in comparison to Katy's previous releases; Teenage Dream is certified 3x platinum, and Prism is 2x platinum. Katy knows this, and she wants to make things right.

Capitol Records head honcho Steve Barnett says the pop star wants to get back in the public's good graces. He said that her latest LP not connecting with the masses is "an interesting story."

    But is it?

"I love her and have forged a great relationship with her," he told Variety. "I talk about how engagement is so important and I don't believe you can have big cycles between projects [as Katy did]. I think that’s changed. And so you sit down and have tough conversations with her and management."

To be a fly on the wall for that...

"As successful as you’ve been, you learn," Barnett continued. "Personally I’ve learned more from our mistakes than our successes and I believe our artists are in the same category as that. But she has a plan, and we have a plan, and I feel good about it."

It's interesting that Katy has a plan for a ~comeback~, seeing as she's still very much in the public eye right now as a judge on American Idol.

My two cents? The plan is simple: reconnect with Teenage Dream songwriter (and formidable pop singer in her own right), Bonnie McKee, ditch the blonde do and do not ever take a dig at Britney Spears. Follow these simple instructions and BAM. Another platinum record. Bookmark me.

    It's Vegasney, bitch!

    Vegasney is making a comeback!

Britney Spears will reportedly launch a new Las Vegas residency in 2019, moving venues from the Axis Theater inside Planet Hollywood to The Park Theater inside Monte Carlo.

It's worth mentioning Lady Gaga's Vegas residency kicks off in December of this year at the same venue. Other stars that currently call the Park Theater home include Bruno Mars, Cher and Ricky Martin.

The report comes from a new quote in the print issue of Us Weekly. Sources tell them Britney has already "signed a deal" and will kick off the new show in 2019.

See what Exhale is saying about it.

"They made the offer and she couldn't refuse," their source said. The magazine mentions that performing in Vegas gives Britney the stability to balance her work life with family. "The schedule was perfect for her. Why not continue?"

Where there's smoke, there's fire! A source told BreatheHeavy months ago this was happening (receipts). It appears the rumor just got a MAJOR push.

In other news, Britney is also reportedly readying a European festival tour of Piece Of Me this summer. If the rumors are true, Britney will give Piece Of Me one final bow before preparing a new show exclusive to Vegas. And with that show could come a new album. Glory songwriter Justin Tranter knows somethings in the works. This is all too much to handle.

If you missed seeing Britney perform in Vegas, you'll get a second chance.

Kick off your weekend with an 80's-tinged re-working of Britney's "Crazy."

Kick off your weekend with an 80's-tinged re-working of Britney's "Crazy."

Remix artist Trace Adam took it upon himself to breathe new life into one of the classics. His '89 Remix of "Crazy" is a wild ride of synthesized ups and frenetic downs.

"I wanted to make a mix of this song that sounded like it came out ten years earlier than the original," Adam told BreatheHeavy.com. "I was going for a Paula Abdul kind of vibe that sounded completely like it was from that time, with nothing modern added. Kind of like it wouldn't be strange to hear it in the background of a Full House episode."

He adds: "This mix has been in the making for a really long time; for over a year by this point. The trouble was being able to get a high enough quality acapella for certain parts of the song. I originally wasn't able to filter those parts of Crazy, which is why there's a little bit of "...Baby One More Time" in there. In the end, I was able to get those vocal pieces from Crazy, but I kept the BOMT bits because I just like how it flows. There's also a couple new harmonies that I mixed up just for a fuller sound."

    Why Britney?

"I love how Britney's voice sounds," Adam continued. "I think she has the perfect tonality for pop music. It's so much fun to adjust and shape her vocals; they really can do anything. And as a person, I love how humble and down to earth she still is despite her success."

Dive in deep and stay up all night:

breatheheavy got a reaction from HeavenOnExhale in 19 Reasons Why Britney's 'Baby One More Time' Album Changed The Face of Pop Music Forever
January 12, 1999 is the most important date known to mankind.

Today marks the 19th anniversary of Britney Spears' Baby One More Time album.

January 12, 1999 is the most important date known to mankind. It's the day Britney's impeccable debut studio album hit shelves and quite literally changed all of our lives. I would probably be a kindergarten teacher, an escort or a pilates instructor if it didn't exist. I HATE pilates.

To celebrate, we listed only 19 reasons why the record is the most important album/era in history and how it will forever keep a special place in your dark, cold, Millennial heart.

1.) The "Baby One More Time" music video. Pigtails, knee-highs and belly baring button-ups are now timeless fashion staples.

    2.) The invention of emails.

3.) The ...Baby One More Time Tour. No one did it or can do it like this. The dance breaks are still seriously insane.

    4.) When will your favs?

5.) The era produced multiple clones (Willa Ford, Mandy Moore, Jessica Simpson).

6.) And the ultimate imposter and decades-long feud (Fighters, wassup?)

7.) The "Sometimes" music video. If you didn't recreate the heart choreography with your friends, did you really have a childhood?

8.) She pioneered the bubble gum pop transition because that's just who she was.

9.) I still rewatch her VMAs performance with *NSYNC at least once a day.

10.) "Soda Pop" deserves to be on loop in The Louvre.

11.) When she saved jazz music from extinction at the Billboard Music Awards.

12.) She was the MOST professional singer in the game.

    13.) And the least innocent.

14.) Gracious Queen gave Max Martin a career.

15.) If you don't think "Crazy" is one of her best music videos of all time turn in your stan card immediately. And you're a horrible person.

    16.) Erm.

17.) Her relationship with Rosie O'Donnell is unparalleled.

18.) Britney popularized duets. I wonder what that guy is up to btw. Not really, though.

19.) Long live Baby One More Time, the most influential album of all time.

Time will take us a part, but I will still love you. Happy birthday, Baby One More Time!

breatheheavy got a reaction from Born2Die in Camila Cabello Recalls Watching Fifth Harmony's "Petty" Diss At The VMAs
    “It definitely hurt my feelings.”

    “It definitely hurt my feelings.”

Camila Cabello's new self-titled, debut solo album drops tonight (Jan. 11) at midnight. She's making the rounds right now to make sure people know about it, including a dazzling visual performance of "Never Be The Same" on The Tonight Show, and an interview in the New York Times.

In it, Camila finally opens up about her departure from Fifth Harmony. It's what we all suspected – there was no room for the singer to flex her songwriting skills and grow as an artist.

The "Havana" singer said after her collaboration with Shawn Mendes on "I Know What You Did Last Summer" dropped, she began attending recording sessions with the likes of Diplo, Cashmere Cat and Benny Blanco. That's when the rest of Fifth Harmony began to shut her out and gave Cam an ultimatum: it's us or them.

“It became clear that it was not possible to do solo stuff and be in the group at the same time,” she said. So she made a decision. “If anyone wants to explore their individuality, it’s not right for people to tell you no.”

Months later, after some major soul searching and healing her wounds from leaving the only life she knew, Camila had finally moved on. That is, until 5H poured salt into the wounds with their stunt at the VMAs.

“It definitely hurt my feelings,” she said – it marks the first time Camila has ever mentioned it. The NY Times reports CC had tears in her eyes recalling the moment. “I wasn’t expecting it, I wasn’t prepared for it — especially because at that point I’d moved on from it. I was just like, ‘What? Why?’”

She added: “I have to make space for the good stuff to happen in my life,” she said. “I don’t like holding onto the past, especially when it’s stuff that, in my opinion, is just petty.”

Read her full interview here. Camila premieres tonight.

19.) Long live Baby One More Time, the most influential album of all time.

Time will take us a part, but I will still love you. Happy birthday, Baby One More Time!

Taylor Swift buries hatchets, but she keeps maps of where she put em. And they're all over the world.

Taylor Swift buries hatchets, but she keeps maps of where she put em.

And they're all over the world.

In Taylor's new music video for "End Game," the pop star trots the globe and serves some delicious looks.

Swift jets off to Tokyo to grab dinner and drinks with Ed Sheeran before making her way to Miami to rock out with Future on a luxury yacht. Tay and Ed end up reuniting in London for a New Year's Eve celebration with friends.

There's an important blink and you'll miss it moment when Swift is ignoring everyone at the shindig to play a game of snake. We see what you did there, Swift.

It's a bummer there's no real concept for the song, but it's a visual spectacle.

Who's partly responsible for this? Swift teamed up with director Joseph Kahn for the clip. He's responsible for most of her catalogue in recent years, including 1989's "Blank Space," "Bad Blood," "Out Of The Woods" and "Wildest Dreams," as well as this era's "Look What You Made Me Do" and "...Ready For It?"

There was some serious momentum to a rumor that Katy Perry was featured in the video, but fortunately there's no cameo. That would have been disastrous.

We're officially in between Britney eras.

We're officially in between Britney eras.

That's a tough place to be, because the rumors tend to grow at a furious rate – faster than normal! And this time around, there seems to be more than ever.

The Piece Of Me European Festival Tour

Britney IS taking Piece Of Me overseas this year – to Smuk Fest 2018 in Denmark this August, but rumors claim she'll make her way to several other highly-attended festivals, like the Lowlands Festival in the Netherlands. There's also chatter that the Queen will perform in London, Paris, Dublin and Antwerp some time between June and August.

    The Return to Las Vegas

Britney has reportedly inked a new deal to launch a residency in Las Vegas in 2019, this time at the Park Theater inside Monte Carlo.

New music is on the way

That leads us to the latest goss. Glory songwriter Justin Tranter was asked about new Britney music this week, to which he responded "just wait." That's a bit of a non-answer, but the Queen will ax you from the final cut if you peep a word. However, The Britney Army has high hopes that means something could come in 2018 - like a new album.

Perhaps there's a bit of truth to that. Word going around Twitter right now (which means it's factual information, obviously) says Britney is aiming to release the lead single off her tenth studio album around summer/fall time. One account says Brit will aim for the summer because Team B wants a yeah summer smash on the radio bet I penned it.

She apparently also recorded a song titled "Empress," had a collab with Justin Bieber in the works and was originally meant to drop new tunes this month. Sure, Jan.

I know it goes without saying, but take all of this with a grain of salt. Actually, just down the entire shaker. We don't know anything, but I'm not going to lie... I'm super impressed with the fan theories that have been circulating. Here's to hoping new Britney's on a mission in 2018!
