He would love to work with Adele, Jennifer Lopez and... Britney Spears?
Hello... it's Ne-Yo.
It's been a minute since we've heard new music from Ne-Yo, but fans won't have to wait much longer. The Grammy Award winning singer says he's in the initial stages of producing his seventh studio album following 2015's Non-Fiction, which produced the Billboard Top 20-charting hit "She Knows" featuring Juicy J.
"I'm in the process of getting back in the studio now," Ne-Yo told BreatheHeavy.com at the Intrigue nightclub grand opening in Las Vegas on Friday. "I got one or two things that I'm proud of. Be looking for some new music relatively soon," he added. "I'm getting in that place where I want to put something out and get back out there."
Ne-Yo adds he has a couple collaborations he'd like to set up for the forthcoming record, including one from Jennifer Lopez ("definitely"). Ne-Yo appeared on stage at JLo's All I Have kickoff show earlier this year to sing a duet of "All I Have."
I mention Britney Spears, who's readying to release a new album of her own in the coming months.
"It wasn't at the front of my brain," he laughs, "but if she was willing to do something, sure! Why not?"
But his dream feature? Adele.
"I love that Adele is doing music again," he said. "I so desperately want to get in with her and see what that would be. I don't even know what that would wind up being. It might suck, but I just want to get in and see what we could possibly do."
Expect the new album this year!
