Ellie Goulding channels heartbreak into her performance of "Fields Of Gold" at Westminster Abbey in London on Monday.
Normally I jack my Macbook Pro's audio to capacity before watching any live performance from Goulding (why is she always sing-whispering?), but the Delirium singer brought the power to her cover of Sting's 1994 hit "Fields Of Gold." Goulding is currently finding her way after breaking up with ex Dougie Poynter after two years of dating. "People think I’m invincible but these past few weeks have been tough," she recently said. “When you’re in the public eye, it seems like you’re able to deal with stuff better than anyone else, which is not remotely true. I’m not in a relationship any more and that’s been hard. Having a break will be a good thing for me and my head.” She added, “I’m not writing new stuff. I’m not sure when I’ll release a new album. It might not even be next year. I need time off for my own head."
Really, she's never sounded more stunning. Listen below:
