Last year, the singer announced she needed some time off. "People think I’m invincible but these past few weeks have been tough," she said. “When you’re in the public eye, it seems like you’re able to deal with stuff better than anyone else, which is not remotely true." She and her boyfriend of two years, McFly bassist Dougie Pointer, called it quits. "I’m not in a relationship any more and that’s been hard. Having a break will be a good thing for me and my head."
Ellie didn't disappear entirely though. She released a song/video for "Still Falling For You" off the Bridget Jones's Baby soundtrack. Plus, a couple b-sides left on the cutting room floor mysteriously made their way onto the net. If you miss hearing Ellie's voice dominate the radio, the wait is nearly over.
Producer BloodPop (Madonna “Iconic,” Justin Bieber “Sorry,” Britney Spears “Better,” Lady Gaga “Perfect Illusion”) revealed the big news. He's playing a hand in Ellie's new music, which according to him is slated for the summer.
That timeline seems to contradict what Ellie told reporters earlier this month of her fourth studio album. "Right now I am writing my fourth album, which is quite insane to think that I'm on my fourth album at this point - but it's coming together, slowly."
"I'm just really taking time by myself to figure out what I'm writing about, figure out what I care about the most." she added. "It's coming together slowly but I'm writing a lot in London in a studio so watch this space."
Out of all of the pop girls, Goulding might be one of the most consistent. It'll be interesting to watch EG4 unfold... slowly.
