What do those backup dancers have on their mind though?
Ellie Goulding performed her single “On My Mind” on The Voice semi-finals tonight (Dec. 7). After emerging from a giant sphere, the “Anything Could Happen” singer delivered a high-energy performance, joined by the least enthusiastic backup dancers of all time. While Ellie worked the stage, the dancers, or more accurately the mannequins, stayed completely still, only breaking their statue-like pose to bob their heads towards the end of the song.

Ellie seemed to be enjoying herself, and with good reason: her performance comes on the heels of receiving two Grammy nominations this morning for Pop Solo Performance and Song Written for Visual Media for her 50 Shades of Grey track “Love Me Like You Do”.
The British singer shared her excitement at being a first-time nominee on Instagram and showed her appreciation for Max Martin, one of the writers behind the nominated song, writing: “Nominated for a Grammy (or two) for the first time ever. I could not be happier. So much love for this wonderful man.”
