The Divide singer is currently sitting at No. 1 on the Hot 100 with "Shape Of You," and it's due to harnessing his mad talent with a drive to dominate. He recently said one reason why he and Taylor Swift are so successful is because they grew up being the underdogs. "I want to be the biggest male artist in the world," he said of what motivates him. "It also comes from always being told that you can't do something and being like, 'F--k you. I can.'"
Sheeran took that passion and plugged it into his performances on Saturday Night Live last night, where he sang his record-breaking tune "Shape Of You" and "Castle On The Hill" (No. 50).
Watch those below, then catch the Grammys tonight to see if Sheeran can win Song of the Year for “Love Yourself,” which he so graciously passed onto Justin Bieber. It's worth noting Bieber is skipping this year's Grammys because he thinks they're irrelevant, so good luck with that win, Ed.
