Early Estimates Predict Taylor Swift’s ‘Reputation’ Will Be Her Biggest Debut Ever

Are you ready for it?

We’ve only had a single day with Taylor Swift’s Reputation in our possession, and it’s already on track to smash her previous first-week sales record. Yes, Reputation will outperform 1989, which as you may recall had a seriously huge opening week in 2014 – back when streaming did not dominate the industry the way it does now.

According to limited data provided to Hits Daily Double, Swift’s new record expected to sell between 1.3 and 1.5 million albums. They believe she’ll sell at least 100K more copies than 1989, giving the singer her fourth album in a row to debut with more than 1 million in first week sales, each out performing the one before.

It’s worth mentioning her label Big Machine Records predicted 2 million in sales. It could happen.

As HDD points out, the early estimates could be even higher. Swift is set to perform on Saturday Night Live this weekend and might even announce a tour. In other words, Taylor still very much knows what she’s doing.
