Dua Lipa and Martin Garrix Release Orchestral Version of “Scared To Be Lonely”

“You wanted acoustic… we gave you an orchestra."

That’s why we love Dua Lipa, the 21-year-old pop star who is actually doing more than the bare minimum required by labels to get a Spotify hit.

Lipa and Martin Garrix saw the fan requests for an acoustic rendition of their moody EDM hit “Scared To Be Lonely” and have released a new version, a one-take live performance backed by a full orchestra.

With Dua’s incredible vocals laid bare, the song transforms into a truly stunning ballad that places the emphasis on the lyrics instead of the drop.

Speaking to The FADER, she says: "The stripped down acoustic version with an orchestra is something I've been wanting to do for a very long time and I couldn't be happier with how it turned out. The strings really take the emotion in the song to a whole new level.”

“Scared To Be Lonely” has became a Top 20 hit in most countries around the world and recently hit #10 on Billboard’s Dance/Electronic Songs chart.
