Drake resurrects Aaliyah and Static Major from Playa on newly-surfaced song "Talk Is Cheap."
Dizzy is hard at work on his forthcoming project More Life, which was rumored to drop earlier this month. Obviously it didn't, but perhaps one of the cuts from it has – a slow-jam tune titled "Talk Is Cheap," which features the late Aaliyah and Playa member Static Major, both of whom the world lost too soon.
Drake sings a love letter: "Hey there, help me. I've been away too long and I know you'd agree. I'm so tired, but I can't sleep. My door's open and that don't me leave."
This marks the second collaboration between The Toronto rapper and Aaliyah. In 2012, a song titled "Enough Said" surfaced, pairing her sweet sound with his slick rapping. Drake reportedly started an album of features between the two, but it never received the blessing of her family.
"There is no official album being released and supported by the Haughton family," read a statement from the family at the time.
Adding insult to injury, Aaliyah's go-to producer Timbaland wished Drake had hit him up for it: "I know they trying to drop some Aaliyah records, but if [Drake] do it, it should be with me and him, and Missy [Elliott]."
