Sam Smith makes a grand return in Disclosure’s “Omen” music video.
Since taking time out from music to heal from vocal cord surgery, Sam Smith hasn’t had the opportunity to release new material. That all changes today thanks to his much-anticipated appearance in Disclosure’s music video for their new song together titled “Omen.” The video is another stunning visual from the sibling duo off their upcoming record Caracal out Sep. 25. The video serves as part two of Disclosure’s four-part Ryan-Hope directed-series.
“It was really exciting,” Disclosure’s Howard Lawrence said in a statement. “We had three whole days to hang out with Sam and write, which are two of my favorite things to do.” Like most of the songs on Caracel, “Omen” was written as a collaboration between Howard, his brother Guy Lawrence, Smith and producer Jimmy Napes.
“It’s very traditional way of writing songs,” brother Guy Lawrence said. “We could do it at home. I’ll sit in the corner making a rough beat and getting all the sounds I think we’re going to use ready. Someone will think about a theme of a subject we want to talk about. It all comes together that way-and if it doesn’t come together quickly, it usually never will.”

In case you haven’t kept up, Disclosure have unleashed plenty of new material on us recently. They kicked off their era with lead-single “Bang That,” their “Holding On” featuring Gregory Porter song release and part I of the accompanying music video and “Moving Mountains” featuring Brendan Reilly. Their new “Omen” visual fits quite nicely in their recent catalogue, don’t you agree?
