For those of you who don't remember, Diplo came after Taylor on Twitter last year, setting up a Kickstarter to 'get Taylor Swift a booty'. Of course, he was immediately put down by Tay's best friend Lorde who enquired as to whether they should do something about Diplo's "tiny penis" while they were at it. Ouch.
Diplo kicked things off in GQ Style by saying:
"All I know is, don’t ever get into a feud with Taylor Swift. She has like 50 million people that will die for her. It’s like an army that’s worse than North Korea. You can’t step into that arena."
Yeah, you read that right - "an army worse than North Korea." Okay.
Diplo went on to confess:
"That was something I was never prepared for... one of the biggest mistakes of my career was definitely fucking with her."
Maybe he has a point - not about North Korea, that was a ludicrous thing to say - but Taylor's fans, much like most fans these days, have a habit of leaning towards the extreme. Whilst admiration of and loyalty towards an artist is something that we've undoubtedly all experienced as pop music fans, we might need to start thinking a bit harder about where to draw the line.
Perhaps by, oh I don't know, not sending people death threats on Twitter? That wouldn't be the worst place to start.
What do you reckon? Is Diplo talking smack about Taylor Swift's booty the worst mistake of his career?
