Demi Lovato Teases "Confident" Music Video: Watch

What’s wrong with bein confident?

Late last month, Lovato revealed she’s shooting the “Confident” music video with director Robert Rodriguez alongside actress Michelle Rodriguez. She posted on Instagram: “So honored to be working with these two badasses: the legendary director @RODRIGUEZ and the legendary actress @MRODOFFICIAL!!.”

Two short weeks later, Lovato’s readying its debut. She announced on Sunday (Oct. 4) the video drops October 9 and shared a little preview of her looking bad ass with the message “#CONFIDENT IS COMING. Video premiere Oct. 9th!!!!”

Director Rodriguez said he “was so impressed by Demi’s fearless performance as a guest star on my TV series… I jumped at the chance to direct her video.”

He added: “I basically treated this like we were shooting a high-octane action film, because she has the presence and star power to pull it off. She’s incredible.”

Lovato couldn’t have made herself more clear in the last week about just how confident she really is. She posed topless with a blow-up banana for Complex magazine then days later released an entirely nude photoshoot for Vanity Fair.

“If there’s one thing I’ve learned in the past day, it’s that life is too short,” Lovato told Vanity Fair photographer Patrick Ecclesine. “I’m about to launch an album that finally represents who I truly am. How do I embrace this new chapter in my life? How do I really walk the walk? What does it mean to be confident? It means letting go, being authentic, saying I don’t give a fuck and this is who I am. I want to show the side of me that’s real, that’s liberated, that’s free. What if we do a photo shoot where it’s totally raw? Super sexy, but no makeup, no fancy lighting, no retouching, and no clothing. Let’s do it here, let’s do it now.”
