Dawn Richard Goes By “DΔWN” Now, Debuts “Calypso” Video

Dawn Richard re-introduces herself as “DΔWN” in new “Calypso” music video.

The former Danity Kane member went from Dawn Richard to just “DΔWN” (with a triangle, illuminati) then released the fifth video treatment from her latest album, “Blackheart.” The Kytten Janae-directed video shows DΔWN interacting with metallic dancing humanoids in the futuristic and bizarre artistic visual.

“Calypso was a nymph in Greek mythology, who lived on the island of Ogygia, where she detained Odysseus for several years. We wanted to capture her essence in the video virtually,” she said in a press release about the video. She also explained the new persona, “DΔWN,” saying:

“I’m just letting go of my last name… It’s time.”
