It's news the music community has been fearing since the announcement of his death: Prince died of a drug overdose.
Toxicology tests prove Prince passed away from an opioid overdose at his home in Paisley Park on April 21, The Associated Press reports. The results have not been released, however a law enforcement official confirms it.
In the days leading up to his untimely death, Prince was spotted hanging around a local Walgreens pharmacy near his home and canceled four concert dates due to “the flu.” Two weeks prior, Prince's private plane was forced to make an emergency landing so he could receive a life-saving shot of Narcan.
Prince was reportedly using Percocet to battle severe hip pain.
