Christina Aguilera won't perform in Las Vegas because she hasn't peaked yet.
Last month, Aguilera's manager Irving Azoff went on the record to say his client wouldn't approach a Las Vegas residency because it's “not time yet," adding "she’s about to go back on The Voice, about to finish her record, about to another guest shot on Nashville, and the record’s amazing…”
When pushed a little further, Azoff added: “Just not time yet. No disrespect to Britney or to Jennifer Lopez who’s doing one or to Shania who did one or any of them. Christina’s not peaked yet. She’s in the prime of her career, will tour the world. We’re not ready to sit down in Vegas.”
That set the Britney fandom ablaze, and today (Oct. 19), new reports from the ever-reliable National Enquirer claim Christina agrees. According to an alleged insider who dished to the tabloid, Xtina "will have to do some damage control," for her manager's statements, but "she is not mad at Irving."
That same insider claims the caviar ratchet chanteuse is quoted as saying: "I won a Grammy this year! Why would I go to Vegas and join Britney and Mariah in an oldies act? I don’t have to spend three nights a week reliving the past. I would get more fans doing a season of ‘The Voice!’”
We're aware this entire story is fabricated and just another attempt at reigniting a feud that's perpetuated by the fans. However, we can't help ourselves believing she really said this.
