Christina Aguilera teamed up with Sia and Nile Rodgers for an original song titled "Telepathy."
If you close your eyes for a moment, you might think it's the year 2000. Both Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera have released new songs on the very same night.
Nostalgia. Nostalgia. Nostalgia.
Aguilera's new cut isn't a taste from her forthcoming pop record, rather a tune designated for Netflix's The Get Down series soundtrack, which also features collaborations from Miguel (“Cadillac”), Zayn (“You Can’t Hide”) Janelle Monae (“Hum Along & Dance [Gotta Get Down]”) Jaden Smith ("Welcome To The Get Down"), who also stars in the series and of course... Christina.
The powerhouse pop star's vocals tango with a funky disco-inspired beat, blaring horns and sickening guitar riffs from Chic legend Nile Rodgers.
"I've got you, and you've got me," Aguilera sings. "I know you and you know me, we got telepathy."
“Its underlying beats are a reference to the 1970s vogueing anthems popular at vogue-club balls like the House of LaBeija,” producer Nelson George said "Telepathy."
