After the death of her husband, René Angélil, Céline Dion loses her brother.
Daniel Dion, brother of French Canadian superstar Céline Dion, has passed away from cancer, just days days after René Angélil's death from the same disease. Daniel was 59 and battled brain, throat and tongue cancer for several years before his passing. Along with Céline, he was one of thirteen brothers and sisters.
His obituary reads:
"Battling cancer for a few years, it's in the uttermost discretion and surrounded by his family that Daniel Dion, 59, died today, January 16. He was the eighth child of Thérèse and Adhémar Dion, brother of Céline."
Our thoughts and prayers are with Céline during what must be an unbearably difficult time. Life is hard and unjust, but music is healing.
