Before he passed, René Angélil told Céline Dion the show must go on.
During her interview with Good Morning America this week, Dion explained her version of Queen's "The Show Must Go On" is so special "because when I was sick or when he was sick ... even before I sang the song, he kept saying, ‘Show must go on,’” Dion said. “So because René said, ‘The show must go on,’ and that he gave me a lot of strength. And you know what? I’m at peace.”
Dion dropped the studio version of "Show Must Go On" featuring Lindsey Stirling ahead of her Billboard Music Awards performance on Sunday where she will also receive the Icon Award.
Later this month, Dion will release a new single in support of her forthcoming album expected to drop in August. “For me, this is so much right now that I don’t look at the schedule so much,” Dion said. “I trust my team, and I trust René, he who lives within me, and I do my very best.”
Watch Dion perform “The Show Must Go On” during the Billboards on Sunday at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
