She's also one of TIME's People of the Year.
Jepsen also received the honour of being one of TIME Magazine's People of 2015, and she spoke to them about narrowly dodging One Hit Wonder no-man's land:
Carly Rae Jepsen is having a great December. While her music remains criminally underrated, the end of 2015 has seen 29-year-old Jepsen receive a mountain of critical acclaim for her second album Emotion. She also starred in a live production of Grease and recorded a Simlish version of her hit Run Away With Me. See where Carly placed on BreatheHeavy's Top Albums of 2015 List! Tonight, Jepsen stopped by James Corden's Late Late Show to perform her cover of Wham!'s yuletide classic, Last Christmas:
“Having a hit is a gift. There’s also that moment afterwards where you feel frozen, as in, ‘What do I do next?’ There’s this expectation of, ‘Can you deliver the exact thing again?'. It’s scary when you’re making an album because you’re trying to filter everything else out other than what matters to you, as in, what you feel is a honest record, what you feel is something that you want to say. I was not expecting people to react so positively to this album. The fact that they have - it’s meant the world to me."The 30-year-old announced North American tour dates earlier this week.
