EARLIER // APRIL 19:
There's a lot of hype behind Camila Cabello's solo album. Some of the most influential artists in the music industry are putting their money on the 20-year-old. Following collaborations with Machine Gun Kelly and Cashmere Cat, the pop star has reportedly enlisted some of the best songwriters/producers in the game, including OneRepublic frontman Ryan Tedder, Diplo, Pharrell Williams and Tyler, The Creator. She also recently dropped a music video with Pitbull and J Balvin for a song titled "Hey Ma" (which was originally meant for Britney Spears and Romeo Santos). Oh, and did I mention she's locked in two of pop music's not-so secret weapons, Charli XCX and Max Martin?
No word on who's behind Camila's lead single, but according to a writer at Us Weekly, it drops May 5.
It makes sense. The former Fifth Harmony member told Fault magazine last month fans could expect to hear her new music around this time. "I hope to release my first few songs before summer and then go from there and hopefully an album in the Fall," she said. "They are going to feel who I am. They are going to get a chunk of my heart, my experiences, my fantasies and everything in between."
She added it will "be me in sound form."
We have a timeline.UPDATE // APRIL 24: Adding fuel to the fire is Camila Cabello's manager, Roger Gold, who Tweeted "CC1" over the weekend. It's the first real confirmation that her new tunes are on the way. Looks like that May 5 release date is a go.
