And no message could have been any clearer.
Well this is an unexpected surprise. Camila Cabello is hard at work on her first solo album. She has an incredible team of superstar producers and songwriters backing her, including OneRepublic frontman Ryan Tedder, Pharrell Williams, Tyler, The Creator, Charli XCX and Max Martin and Major Lazer.
The budding pop star has spent a lot of time in the recording studio, but not much on stage. Fortunately, the 20-year-old took a moment to refresh herself by performing at the ACLU Nationwide fundraising concert organized by Zedd on Monday (April 3). And in a twist of events, Camila sang a cover of Michael Jackson's "Man In The Mirror" off MJ's 1987 album Bad.
It will be interesting to see how she bodes as a solo artist, but this cover is pretty good. She holds her own. Watch:
