Bruno Mars' path to super stardom began from nothing.
Mars' new album 24K Magic is out today. The record is a collection of cheeky upbeat songs that don't outline any of the pop star's obvious struggles from rags to riches, but he discusses it in detail in a new interview for 60 Minutes airing on Sunday.
In a preview, Mars visits a rundown building at Paradise Park that he and his family called home.
“We had it all. We had each other and it never felt like it was the end of the world,” he said. “‘It’s alright we don’t got electric today. It’s alright, it’s temporary,’ saying, ‘Well, we going to figure this out.’”
The hardships instilled a sense of undying determination that shaped his quest towards perfection in his music.
“Maybe that’s why I have this mentality,” he said. “I know I’m going to figure … it out, just give me some time.”
