Britney Stops “Circus” Tour 4 Songs In At Vancouver Show Tonight – UPDATED

Britney stopped her "Circus" show tonight in Vancouver, BC Wednesday night leaving fans very disappointed.

According to PerezHilton.com, Britney canceled the show just 4 songs in because "it was too smokey in the arena."

"The concert came to a complete standstill, lights off, for over 20 minutes - when a voice came over the speaker system an announced that the show would not continue if people kept smoking marijuana (and cigarettes) around the perimeter of stage. The announcer claimed it was "unsafe" for Britney and the performers to continue with the concert."

Hope everything's OK!

UPDATE: Britney did in fact take the stage again after 30 minutes.

"She did not look into it at all!" said one concertgoer.

UPDATE 2: Official statement from Britney's camp regarding tonight's show:

"We want to apologize to all the fans who attended our Vancouver show tonight for the brief pause in Britney's set. Crew members above the stage became ill due to a ventilation issue."

UPDATE 3: "We want to apologize to all the fans who attended our Vancouver show tonight for the brief pause in Britney's set," a Spears rep tells PerezHilton.com. "Crew members above the stage became ill due to a ventilation issue."

Sources say it was a "safety issue."

"We were concerned for the lighting guys and everyone else working on the show." If one of those guys up above got dizzy or sick from all that marijuana smoke....it wouldn't have been pretty"

After the final song, Britney ran off the stage and told the audience "Thanks Vancouver. You were wonderful. Drive safe. Don't smoke weed!"

Sound advice!
