Britney Spears: You Are All Punk’d

Britney Spears cancelled her mysterious and much-anticipated press conference yesterday.

Britney Spears announced she would be holding a press conference on Thursday, however, the reasons for it is so top secret that not even Spears’ PR people know what is going on.

According to AP, Britney Spears has invited selected media representatives, journalists and record industry executives to the Los Angeles Convention Center.

Karen Phillips from Sony said: "Britney hasn't held a press conference in so long that we know it's something big - pregnancy, a split, we're not sure."

Matt Lauer was also wondering what Britney Spears' big announcement of the day would be.

It was thought that Britney Spears would announce her second pregnancy by her husband Kevin Federline publicly, less then a year after she gave birth to her son Sean Preston.

Britney Spears and Kevin Federline have been plagued by constant rumors of relationship troubles and have not been seen together in the past few weeks.

In interviews with People and with Entertainment Tonight, Britney Spears confirmed that she is currently recording her fifth studio album, to be released in November 2006.

Britney Spears commented that she couldn't wait to return because the current pop scene has been "a huge lull" and "boring."

Britney Spears also revealed that Jive, her record label, didn't let her "show off" her voice during her earlier years as a teen pop star and she is determined to come back proving she can sing, saying "I found out after the baby that I can sing!"
