It only took a few hours for the princess of pop to reclaim her throne.
At 8 p.m. PST Thursday night, Britney's lead B9 single "Make Me" hit the net, and the rest was history. By 11, she hit No. 1 on iTunes' Top Songs chart, knocking Justin Timberlake's "Can't Stop The Feeling" from first place where it's remained for weeks.
Katy Perry also released a new song at the same time, an anthemic tune titled "Rise" specially crafted for the Olympics, but at the time of posting it bubbled under the Top 10 at No. 9.
Brit caught wind of her new feat, Tweeting fans: "This is an incredible feeling. Thank you, thank you, thank you!! ❤️ #MakeMe"
