Britney Spears and Katy Perry unknowingly dropped new singles on the same night, but there's room for both in the Top 20 on Billboard's Hot 100 chart.
Perry's Olympic anthem "Rise" debuted at No. 11 and was the week's best-selling song with 137,000 downloads, reports Billboard. This marks Perry's 11th Digital Songs new No. 1, passing Taylor Swift who had 10. Rihanna remains the leader with 14.
Britney's new tune "Make Me" featuring G-Eazy opens up at No. 17 on the Hot 100 and No. 3 on the Digital Songs chart with 96,000 sold.
Billboard reports that "despite the new songs' arrivals, neither Perry nor Spears is expected to release a new album in the foreseeable future; thus, their new singles arrive with stand-alone buzz, not billed as previews from forthcoming albums."
Speaking of the Hot 100, Sia's "Cheap Thrills" is this week's No. 1 song. It marks the This Is Acting singer's first ever Top 5 as a solo artist on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart.
