2016 is the year of Britney.
The pop princess made a huge (don't call it a) comeback to the music scene with her latest album Glory, raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for the Nevada Childhood Cancer Foundation, performed at the Video Music Awards, the Billboard Music Awards, the iHeart Radio Music Festival, added new songs to Piece Of Me and won Best Resident Performer for the second year in a row at Las Vegas Review Journal’s 2016 Best of Las Vegas Awards, all while juggling her responsibilities as an active mom to her two sons.
For all the hard work, bitch, Britney is receiving the Music Choice Icon Award.
“This is such an honor to receive this award," Britney says in her acceptance speech. "It’s really beautiful, and I’ve really worked hard on this project and this really means a lot to me." She adds: “Thank you so much for enjoying my music!”
Backstage at the VMAs this year, Britney told the Today show her pop opus was another facet to her longstanding career. “I don’t really see it as a comeback,” she said of Glory. “I think I’ve never really left. I’ve always been here. So (it’s) just like... maybe a reinvention of myself and just a different time in my life — a really good, glorious time.”
