Sink your teeth into this.
One of the most iconic male figures of all time is Danny from Grease, so it's fitting singer Bonnie McKee dreamed up a music video which centers around the famous musical for her new song "Stud Muffin." The standalone track serves as a marketing campaign to advertise a new line of blueberry muffin-flavored Quest Bars. No joke. The end of the three-minute video asks users to click an outlined box which opens a new tab to the company's website where us, the consumer, can buy said bars.
Here's the mumbo jumbo from a press release posted to Business Wire:
Quest Nutrition and 10-time Billboard #1 hitmaker, Bonnie McKee, partner to debut the newest Quest Bar flavor, Blueberry Muffin. In celebration of the launch, Quest ditched the traditional jingle. Instead, they invited McKee to write and perform an original branded dance-pop song called “STUD MUFFIN.” Timed with the release of the Blueberry Muffin bar, Quest also released a retro-inspired music video for the song with cameos from YouTube dance phenomenon WilldaBeast Adams and fitness stars The Hodge Twins.
McKee explains her reasoning to back the endorsement: “As an independent artist, I love collaborating with brands,” explained McKee, “especially when it’s a true artistic collaboration like this one. And now,” she laughed, “I get why they call the Blueberry Muffin bar a ‘stud muffin’ – I couldn’t stop eating them on set!”
The description of the bar uses the magical marketing key word "protein" along with the hashtag #CheatClean. A box will run you $24.99, but for McKee... this may cost her a bit more.
