Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani sing about achy breaky heartache.
Shelton's latest single "Came Here To Forget" is a pity party for one. How does he fix a broken heart following his split with ex Miranda Lambert? Getting lit at the bar. His new boo Gwen Stefani also recently went through a tumultuous breakup. Her 13-year marriage to Bush frontman Gavin Rossdale went up in flames after he reportedly cheated on her with the nanny (it's always the nanny).
Stefani and Shelton shared their heartache with one another, then patched it up by jumping into a romantic relationship – and now they're making the cheesiest move two famous musicians could make... recording a song together about, what else? Heartbreak.
The two recorded a song together titled “Go Ahead And Break My Heart” which will appear on Shelton's upcoming 10th studio album If I’m Honest out May 20.
“[The song] is very personal for us both because, you know, we obviously have this bond that is remarkable together,” he said.
Shelton goes on to say the two co-wrote the song together.
"I know that I don't co-write that much because I'm very insecure about it I guess and [Gwen’s] kind of got her circle of people that she writes with. But for us to reach out to each other as writers, it may never happen again, who knows.”
He adds, “I hesitate to brag on it too much but I really think that it's as good of a song as I've ever written in my life.”
Gwen is one of several pop stars who've jumped aboard the country train in recent weeks. Demi Lovato announced an upcoming collaboration with Brad Paisley, Beyonce recently released "Daddy Lessions" and JLo teamed up with Jennifer Nettles on "My House."
