Billboard’s Highest Paid Music Stars of 2014

Billboard has released its top 30 list of entertainers swimming in cash, thanks to their combined earnings in tours, streaming, publishing and record sales last year.

Top of the list is One Direction.

1D earned a whopping $46 million in 2014, sending them skyrocketing from #13 last year to top spot for 2015. The sky-high earnings are probably partly due to the band touring every single year since they were signed to Simon Cowell’s record label in 2010.

Second on the list is Katy Perry, who took home $30 million thanks to the Prismatic World Tour and third is Justin Timberlake who raked in $27 mill via his own world tour, top 10 single Not A Bad Thing and a posthumous duet with Michael Jackson.

Other notables include Jay Z at #9 ($22 mill), Bruno Mars at #11 ($19.9 mill), Beyonce at #12 ($19.6 mill) and Miley at #14 with $16 million. All are primarily earning their huge pay cheques from touring or streaming services. Bey and Jay should see an increase next year after their Tidal earnings come through, and Bruno will likely need several bank accounts just to house his eventual earnings from Uptown Funk’s massive success.

Britney comes in at #18 with her Vegas residency helping her take home $13.1 million:
