■ Vice President Joe Biden will introduce Lady Gaga ahead of her performance of “Til It Happens To You” at the 88th Academy Awards on Sunday. The song, which highlights sexual abuse on college campuses and featured in the documentary "The Hunting Ground," is nominated for best original song. According to NBC, Biden will "use the opportunity to promote the White House's 'It's On Us' campaign against sexual assault" which launched last September.
Biden is an outspoken advocate on the issues of domestic and sexual violence.
In November, the White House released an op-ed, written by Biden, titled "It's On Us to Stop Campus Sexual Assault." It calls on students across college campuses to speak out against sexual assault and "create an environment where sexual assault is unacceptable, and all survivors are supported."
It urges students to "create an environment where sexual assault is unacceptable, and all survivors are supported."
