Plus, Demi Lovato shoots the "Confident" music video and watch Major Lazer's new music video for "Too Original."
■ It's been a minute since we've heard new music from the talented Sara Bareilles, but all that's about to change. On Thursday (Sep. 24), the "Brave" singer shared the cover of her upcoming album, What’s Inside: Songs From Waitress. Bareilles wrote songs for the Broadway musical titled "Waitress" which finishes its current run in Cambridge, Massachusetts this weekend before landing in New York City’s Brooks Atkinson Theatre in April 2016.
“I fell more deeply in love with the writing of the musical Waitress than I had ever imagined," Bareilles said in a statement. “It proved impossible for me to imagine handing over the songs to the show before selfishly finding a way to sing them myself. This is a deliciously self-indulgent project and I'm sorry, I'm not sorry.”
The first single, “She Used To Be Mine,” drops Friday (Sep. 25) with the full record premiering Nov. 6.
■ Demi Lovato's new music video for "Confident" is directed by Robert Rodriguez and will co-star Michelle Rodriguez. Lovato posted on Instagram, "So honored to be working with these two badasses: the legendary director @RODRIGUEZ and the legendary actress @MRODOFFICIAL!!."
“I was so impressed by Demi’s fearless performance as a guest star on my TV series From Dusk Till Dawn that I jumped at the chance to direct her video,” Rodriguez said. “I basically treated this like we were shooting a high-octane action film, because she has the presence and star power to pull it off. She’s incredible.”
