■ The world was shocked to hear about Prince's untimely passing, but even more so were the fans attending his final two concerts at Atlanta’s Fox Theatre on April 14.
April 14 was the makeup date after he previously rescheduled. "I was a little under the weather," Prince told the crowd. Hours later, his flight was forced to make an emergency landing and was reportedly treated at a hospital for an overdose of Percocet, reports TMZ.
“He left the stage a couple of times,” said Lisa Resper-France, CNN Digital Entertainment senior producer, who attended one of the shows in Atlanta. “At one point he said he did that because he had forgotten how emotional some of the older songs could make him. He just felt so full up. But the man that I saw last week, a week ago today, was not someone ill. He was in top voice. It was a healthy Prince he saw last week.”
Prince played a string of his iconic hits, which included a cover of David Bowie's "Heroes."
