Lemonade for everyone!
Beyoncé's management company, Parkwood Entertainment, presented United Way of Genesee County a donation of $82,234 to support residents of Flint, Michigan in light of the continuing water crisis residents face.
According to a release, Parkwood, in partnership with Bey's philanthropic platform, BeyGOOD, also gave 14 lucky students selected by high school principals and faculty college gifts "to help with their educational expenses," along with tickets to Beyoncé’s Detroit show of the Formation World Tour.
“We were pleased to announce the collective funds raised through our United Way relationship which allowed fans to donate online to the Flint water crisis at the point of purchasing Beyoncé Formation World Tour concert ticket,” said Parkwood Entertainment's director of philanthropy and corporate relations Ivy McGregor.
This marks the second recent initiative from Bey. Last month, Bey brought awareness to North Carolina's "bathroom bill" which dictates what bathroom people in the LGBTQ community are required to use, applauding Equality NC, a local organization that aims to achieve "equal rights and justice."
