Beyonce paid her respects for the lives lost in Turkey during a planned military coup.
Turkish officials tell the BBC nearly 8,000 police officers were suspended on suspicion of having links to the coup attempt over the weekend. The plan of action against President Recep Tayyip Erdogan resulted in 265 deaths and over 1,400 injured.
Beyonce, who has dedicated her song "Halo" in recent times the victims lost in the Nice attack, police officers in Dallas, the LGBT men and women killed in Orlando or victims of police brutality, dedicated her angelic tune to Turkey.
This song is about love,” the "Sorry" singer said. “I want to dedicate it to all the lives lost in Turkey. Y’all help me sing tonight.”
