Legend has spoken.
Barbra Streisand gives Lady Gaga two thumbs up.
Mother Monster has some very big shoes to fill with the upcoming remake of A Star Is Born alongside Bradley Cooper, but according to the legend herself, Gaga did a fine job.
Streisand gave a rare interview to Variety. They report she saw scenes of Gaga playing her former character, and said Gaga did a "good" job.
“I don’t want to talk about it because I don’t want to spook it," she added. "I can’t believe that was 40-some years ago. I think [Bradley Cooper] did a wonderful job with [Gaga]."
Beyonce was reportedly the original choice for the character, and Barb had some thoughts on that as well.
“I thought when it was going to be done it was going to be very different and have a multiracial cast, and the music was going to be rap,” she says. “But it’s more like the movie I made.”
Did she assume the music would be rap because the cast was black? Problematic, but a kii.
