Avicii directs two music videos off his upcoming album.
Avicii (real name Tim Berling) surprised fans with the announcement of his new album title, Stories (out Friday, Oct. 2) last week along with the premiere of two songs: "For A Better Day" featuring Alex Ebert and "Pure Grinding."
His upcoming album features 14 songs, with contributions from Matisyahu, Wyclef Jean, Zak Abel, Gavin DeGraw, Zac Brown and others (to be announced).
"All the songs have a story I wanted to tell," says the 2x Grammy-nominated producer/songwriter/DJ. Bergling says the album "refines what I didn't feel was perfect last time. I think there are more layers to the songs than before, and every song has been written on acoustic guitar, so the structure is different."
He recently told Billboard, "I had a lot of freedom to explore new sounds on Stories." His sound isn't the only avenue worth exploring - Berling directed both music videos for the newly-released singles. He spent a portion of his summer filming them in Hungary and both address social themes, reports Billboard. "For a Better Day" stars Swedish actor Krister Henriksson and addresses child trafficking, while "Pure Grinding" channels Sergio Leone in the context of gang violence.
