Beyonce's Dad: Beyonce & Jay-Z Behind Divorce Rumors

Surprise, surprise. Beyonce and Jay-Z sparked the divorce rumors to drum up ticket sales for their “On The Run” arena tour, this according to Bey’s father, Matthew Knowels, who no longer represents his daughter.

“I know, because we’ve done this. From experience, there’s a tour going on,” Knowels told Roula & Ryan show on 104.1 KRBE in Houston earlier this week. “So you sometimes have to ignite that tour. It’s called a Jedi mind trick. The Jedi mind trick fools you a lot.”

This prompted the hosts to ask if the elevator scandal between Solanage and Jay-Z was staged then “leaked” to the press.

“All I know is the Jedi mind trick. Everyone’s talking about it. Ticket sales went up. Solange’s album sales went up 200%!”

    Brilliant, TBH.

    Hey QT

    Hey QT

UK producers SOPHIE and A. G. Cook weren’t satisfied with songs like “Shake It Off” or “Break Free” man-handling the pop scene, so they crafted a persona named QT and released this punky club banger appropriately titled “Hey QT.”

    Oh, hey.

The song is energetic, fun to sing a lot to (yet impossible to re-create without the use of audio manipulation and/or helium) and leaves room for a plethora of collaborations and remixes.

That chick up top is simply a pretty placeholder clutching a make-believe drink (or “Energy Elixir”). They explain:

“So what, or who, is QT? She’s a sparkling future pop sensation – albeit one who is set to warp and stretch the notion of what a pop star actually is. It’s a drink, or more precisely a brand new Energy Elixir (‘where organic and synthetic meet to stimulate an uplifting club sensation’). And it’s a song, a moment – ‘Hey QT’ – which sees these two producers pushing their sound to its very extreme and creating a future anthem in the process.”

Katy Perry, This Is Fifth Harmony & Their New Song

Fifth Harmony’s made a sizable impact in music since their launch from The X Factor with songs like “Miss Movin On” and “BO$$,” but they’ve made zero impression with Katy Perry. None.

When the girl group won the “Artist To Watch” award at the VMA’s on Sunday, Katy Perry turned to Sam Smith (who lost in that category) and asked him who they were.

It’s OK, Katy Perry. We understand you don’t have time for lessors, and we thank you for your throwback to Britney and Justin on Sunday, so we’ll kindly ask you to check out their newly released single, “Them Girls Be Like.” Expecting your Tweet to @fifthharmony by the end of the day. Oh, and they were sitting next to her during the show.

Lady Gaga Surprise Performance With Adam Lambert

Lady Gaga’s got the pop thing down. She’s currently releasing a jazz album with Tony Bennett, but nope! That’s not enough! She took a stab at glam rock in a surprise performance with Queen and Adam Lambert last night in Sydney, Australia and brilliantly nailed it.

Gaga took a night off from performing her Art Pop tour down under to… perform… Queen’s “Another One Bites The Dust” with Adam Lambert.

    Gaga posted on Instagram:

“Tonight I felt alive in a way I have not before. I returned to the Radio GaGa mothership to pay homage to my leaders. It was emotional and wild.”

Taylor Swift Doesn't Care I Think "Shake It Off" Is Unoriginal

Why are we embracing Taylor Swift’s transition from country to pop? Swift lands atop the Billboard Hot 100 this week with her latest single, “Shake It Off,” beating out Nicki Minaj’s “Anaconda” which lands at number two.

It’s cool to say “I hate country music” when you’re 20-something, but Taylor Swift had no problems rocketing to super-stardom in that genre. Now, she finds herself working with pop music pioneer Max Martin, famous for launching Britney Spears’ career with “Baby One More Time,” and people are simply cool with it.
