Making it count.
Earlier this year, Ariana Grande let the cat out of the bag: her Dangerous Woman followup is done. Major Lazer's Diplo also shed some light on the forthcoming LP. “We did some stuff with her. She has a bunch of songs coming out; not sure how it fits in," he said, adding the most difficult part is finding the right time to release it. "The thing with bigger stars is it’s hard to find that timing. We’re competing with them now in the market, so we just want to make sure everyone is happy.”
We don't know much else about the record, but according to the pop star herself, it will most likely feature around 10 songs in total.
During a Q&A with fans last week at the soundcheck for her DW show in Cleveland, OH, Ari shared the tea. “The label was like, ‘please try to keep it to 15 tracks,’ and I was like, 'I have 25,' and they were like, ‘not gonna happen.’”
She adds, “but I think the next one I’m gonna make it shorter. I’m gonna make it like 10 just to make it count.” Here's audio of that:

That news is quite sad considering how many delicious pop gems were featured on her last studio album, but maybe there's a method to her madness. Bruno Mars's most-recent album 24K Magic only has 10 songs, and each one of them are legitimately single-worthy. I'd still prefer she release all 25 though.
