EARLIER // JULY 19:
Ariana Grande will sing Whitney Houston classics on ABC's live "Greatest Hits" finale.
Christina Aguilera attempted to honor Houston during The Voice finale earlier this year with a performance alongside a hologram of the late singer, but Houston's family axed the performance because they felt it didn't look like her enough.
Now another super star singer will have an opportunity to pay tribute to Houston, minus the glittery technology, when Grande takes the stage to perform for the special episode which airs Aug. 4.
The live “Greatest Hits” finale will also find “some of the most iconic and thrilling music artists of the 80s, 90s and 2000s performing their greatest hits,” which includes Celine Dion. She'll perform her legendary hit “My Heart Will Go On.”
Grande made headlines this year when she flawlessly impersonated Houston during a skit on Saturday Night Live. She also rocked the White House with a performance of "I Have Nothing" back in 2014.
