Today (Jan. 25) is Keys' 36th bday, but despite the tumultuous time in American culture, the outspoken singer is keeping her head up (she attended the Women's March in DC). The birthday girl shared a new song titled "That's What's Up," sampling Kanye West's The Life of Pablo cut "Low Lights," which comes from Kings of Tomorrow’s "So Alive."
The song, likely produced by her husband and producer, Swizz Beatz, who also produced songs on Pablo, opens up with a Bible verse: "You want me to give you a testimony about my life," she sings in her signature tone. "Time and time you've lifted me up, Lord knows you'll never let me down, now that's what's up."
Keys paired the song with intimate footage of her in a robe and towel, soaking in the tub and sipping a glass of wine. Not a bad way to celebrate:
