EARLIER // OCTOBER 6:

Alicia Keys pulls from her past in new song "Blended Love (What You Do For Love)" off her forthcoming album titled Here.

Keys is getting personal on her new album track, which finds the smooth singer crooning about her personal life, which she dubs her most "raw and honest creation yet."

According to Rap-Up, the song is centers around Swizz Beatz’s sons, Prince Nasir and Kasseem Dean Jr., from the producer’s previous marriage to Mashonda. When Keys first started dating Beatz, Mashonda criticized her on Twitter.

“My concern with [Keys] is no longer the fact that she assisted in destroying a family,” Mashonda said. “But that she has the audacity to make these selfish comments about love and wanting to be with someone, even after knowing their situation.”

“I may not really be your mother,” she sings over chill strings and, naturally, a plunky piano. “That don’t mean that I don’t really love ya / Even though I married your father / That’s not the only reason I’m here for ya.”

At the time, Alicia denied the notion she broke up a family. “[They] were apart for some time before we ever got together.” She added: “that doesn’t matter to those who take pleasure in trying to knock others down.”

Keys sings about it on "Blended Love." “I know it started with a little drama,” she sings. “I hate you had to read it in the paper / But everything’s over with me and your mama / Everybody here you know adores ya.”
